Product details
Only the Brass Diya Is Supplied
You will receive the Brass Pooja Diya shown for sale. Items used for lighting or display must be arranged separately. Keep cotton wicks, oil, or ghee ready before Puja begins. A matchbox, Pooja Thali, flowers, and other worship items are also separate products.
Prepare the Wick Before Puja
Make sure the Diya is clean and dry. Place it on a flat surface that will not burn or move. Roll cotton into a wick and place the lower part inside the Diya. Keep the lighting end raised enough to reach with a matchstick. Add a small amount of oil or ghee around the wick. Do not fill it to the edge. Clean any spilled fuel from the outside before lighting the Brass Jyot.
Use the Diya During Aarti
Keep the Puja Deepak near your home Mandir during prayer. It may also be placed on a Pooja Thali when the thali has a flat area and enough space around the flame. Check that the Diya cannot tilt before lifting the Aarti Thali. Hold the thali firmly and keep the flame away from clothes, flowers, paper, curtains, and dry Puja items.
Do not carry the Diya by itself while it is burning. Keep an adult near the flame at all times. Children and pets should remain away from the Puja area.
Wait for the Diya to Cool
The Diya can become hot while the wick is burning. Do not touch it immediately after the flame goes out. Wait until the metal has cooled. Remove the used wick and wipe away oil, ghee, and soot with a soft cloth. Avoid steel scrubbers and strong cleaning liquids. Dry the Pital ka Diya before placing it back on the Mandir shelf.
