Family Worship of Lord Satyanarayan / परिवार के साथ भगवान सत्यनारायण की पूजा

During Satyanarayan Katha, the family takes time to worship Lord Vishnu. Family members pray, hear the Katha and take Prasad together. They remember and worship Lord Vishnu as one family.

हिंदी: सत्यनारायण कथा के समय परिवार भगवान विष्णु की पूजा के लिए समय निकालता है। परिवार के सदस्य एक साथ प्रार्थना करते हैं, कथा सुनते हैं और प्रसाद लेते हैं। पूरा परिवार साथ बैठकर भगवान विष्णु को याद करता और उनकी पूजा करता है।

Truthful Speech and Honest Actions / सच बोलने और ईमानदारी से काम करने की सीख

Satya (सत्य) is the main teaching of Lord Satyanarayan. The Katha teaches people to speak truth and act honestly. Prayer and honest actions should go together. The same rule applies at home and work.

हिंदी: सत्य भगवान सत्यनारायण की पूजा की मुख्य सीख है। कथा सिखाती है कि पूजा के साथ सच और ईमानदारी भी जरूरी हैं। भक्त के शब्द और व्यवहार सच्चे होने चाहिए। यही नियम घर और काम पर भी लागू होता है।

Keeping Your Sankalp / अपना संकल्प पूरा करना

Sankalp is a promise made before God. The Katha teaches families not to forget the Vrat after a wish is fulfilled. Take only a Sankalp you can complete. Remember the promised Pooja and do it as the family can manage.

हिंदी: संकल्प भगवान के सामने लिया गया वचन है। कथा सिखाती है कि मनोकामना पूरी होने के बाद व्रत नहीं भूलना चाहिए। वही संकल्प लें जिसे आप पूरा कर सकें। पूजा का वचन याद रखें और परिवार जितना कर सके, उसी तरह पूजा पूरी करें।

Remember God After a Wish Is Fulfilled / मनोकामना पूरी होने के बाद भगवान को याद रखना

Families do Satyanarayan Pooja after a wish is fulfilled. They also do it for a new home, marriage or another family event. Family members worship Lord Satyanarayan and hear the Katha. They offer Naivedya (नैवेद्य: food offered to God) and share Prasad. The Pooja teaches the family not to forget God after a wish is fulfilled.

हिंदी: परिवार मनोकामना पूरी होने, नए घर, विवाह या किसी शुभ कार्य के बाद सत्यनारायण पूजा करता है। परिवार भगवान सत्यनारायण की पूजा करता है, कथा सुनता है, भोग चढ़ाता है और प्रसाद बाँटता है। पूजा परिवार को मनोकामना पूरी होने के बाद भी भगवान को याद रखना सिखाती है।

Family Members Join the Pooja Together / परिवार एक साथ पूजा में भाग लेता है

Family members gather in one place for Satyanarayan Pooja. Everyone can prepare the Pooja area, join the Sankalp and hear the Katha. The family also takes Prasad together.

Doing the Pooja together cannot end every family problem by itself.

हिंदी: सत्यनारायण पूजा परिवार को एक जगह साथ लाती है। सभी लोग पूजा की जगह तैयार कर सकते हैं, संकल्प में बैठ सकते हैं और कथा सुन सकते हैं। परिवार साथ प्रसाद भी लेता है। केवल साथ पूजा करने से परिवार की हर समस्या अपने आप समाप्त नहीं होती।

Children Learn the Family Tradition / बच्चों को परिवार की पूजा परंपरा की जानकारी

Children can watch the Pooja and hear the Katha with elders. They learn about Lord Satyanarayan, Sankalp, Naivedya and Prasad. They also see how family members behave during worship. Parents can explain each part as it happens.

हिंदी: बच्चे बड़ों के साथ पूजा देखकर और कथा सुनकर परंपरा समझ सकते हैं। उन्हें भगवान सत्यनारायण, संकल्प, नैवेद्य और प्रसाद की जानकारी मिलती है। वे यह भी देखते हैं कि पूजा के समय परिवार कैसे व्यवहार करता है। माता-पिता पूजा का हर भाग समझा सकते हैं।

Leaving Pride and Respecting Prasad / घमंड छोड़ना और प्रसाद का सम्मान

Taking Prasad is part of finishing Satyanarayan Pooja. The Katha shows how pride (अहंकार) can make a person refuse Prasad. It teaches people to leave pride and take Prasad with respect.

The Katha does not teach fear. Take Prasad with respect and share it with everyone present.

हिंदी: प्रसाद लेना सत्यनारायण पूजा पूरी करने का भाग है। कथा दिखाती है कि घमंड के कारण व्यक्ति प्रसाद लेने से मना कर सकता है। यह लोगों को अहंकार छोड़ने और सम्मान से प्रसाद लेने की सीख देती है।

यह बात डर पैदा करने के लिए नहीं है। प्रसाद सम्मान से लें और पूजा में उपस्थित सभी लोगों के साथ बाँटें।

Sharing Prasad, Food and Dakshina / प्रसाद, भोजन और दक्षिणा बाँटने की सीख

During the Pooja, people hear the Katha together and give Dakshina (दक्षिणा). They also serve food and share Prasad with relatives and guests.

The Pooja also teaches Daan (दान) and sharing. Give Dakshina and serve food as much as the family can manage.

हिंदी: पूजा के समय लोग साथ कथा सुनते हैं और दक्षिणा देते हैं। वे रिश्तेदारों और मेहमानों को भोजन कराते हैं और प्रसाद बाँटते हैं।

पूजा दान और बाँटना भी सिखाती है। परिवार अपनी क्षमता के अनुसार दक्षिणा दे और भोजन कराए।

Prayer During Sorrow, Fear and Difficult Times / दुख, भय और कठिन समय में प्रार्थना

The Katha uses “दुःखशोकादिशमनम्” for relief from sorrow. It uses “भयात् प्रमुच्येत” for freedom from fear. People hear the Katha and pray for relief during difficult times.

The final lines use “बद्धो मुच्येत बन्धनात्” for freedom from Bandhan (बंधन). The Katha lists these as Phal. They do not promise a medical cure, debt removal or a court win.

हिंदी: कथा में “दुःखशोकादिशमनम्” यानी दुख और शोक से राहत का फल बताया गया है। इसमें “भयात् प्रमुच्येत” यानी भय से मुक्ति भी बताई गई है। इसलिए लोग कठिन समय में राहत की प्रार्थना करते हुए कथा सुनते हैं।

अंतिम फल में “बद्धो मुच्येत बन्धनात्” यानी बंधन से मुक्ति भी लिखी है। इसका अर्थ बीमारी का पक्का इलाज, कर्ज खत्म होना या अदालत में जीत की गारंटी नहीं है।

Prayer for Money, Food, Success and Wishes / धन, अन्न, सफलता और मनोकामना की प्रार्थना

“धनधान्यप्रवर्धनम्” means more money and food. “सौभाग्यसन्ततिकरम्” means good luck and children. “वाञ्छासिद्धिः” means a wish coming true.

“सर्वत्र विजयप्रदम्” means victory or success. Families pray for enough money, food, success and a personal wish. These words do not promise wealth, business profit or a child. They do not promise exam or court success. No fixed number of days can promise a result.

हिंदी: कथा में “धनधान्यप्रवर्धनम्” यानी धन और अन्न की वृद्धि का फल बताया गया है। “सौभाग्यसन्ततिकरम्” सौभाग्य और संतान से जुड़ा है। “वाञ्छासिद्धिः” का अर्थ मनोकामना पूरी होना है।

कथा में “सर्वत्र विजयप्रदम्” यानी विजय या सफलता का फल भी बताया गया है। इसलिए परिवार भलाई, धन, अन्न, सफलता और अपनी मनोकामना के लिए प्रार्थना करता है। इसका अर्थ पक्का धन लाभ, व्यापार में तय मुनाफा या संतान की गारंटी नहीं है। यह परीक्षा या अदालत में जीत का वचन भी नहीं देता। किसी तय दिन फल मिलने की गारंटी नहीं दी जा सकती।

Bhakti, Freedom From Moha and Moksha / भक्ति, मोह से मुक्ति और मोक्ष

Satyanarayan Vrat is not only for money or family wishes. “मुच्यते मोहत्” means freedom from Moha (मोह). “मोक्षमाप्नुयात्” means Moksha, or freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

The final lines also mention “तस्य नश्यन्ति पापानि,” or removal of Paap (पाप: sin). The Katha asks people to follow Bhakti, truth and good behaviour. Hearing it once does not remove every Paap or promise Moksha.

हिंदी: सत्यनारायण व्रत केवल धन या परिवार की मनोकामनाओं के लिए नहीं है। “मुच्यते मोहत्” में मोह से मुक्ति की बात लिखी है। “मोक्षमाप्नुयात्” का अर्थ जन्म-मरण के चक्र से मुक्ति पाना है।

अंतिम फल में “तस्य नश्यन्ति पापानि” यानी पाप नष्ट होने की बात भी लिखी है। कथा भक्ति, सत्य और अच्छे व्यवहार की सीख देती है। केवल एक बार कथा सुनने से हर पाप मिटने या मोक्ष मिलने की गारंटी नहीं दी जा सकती।
